Atlantic Immigration Program

The Atlantic Immigration Program is a federal initiative designed to assist employers in hiring skilled foreign workers and international graduates to address labor shortages.

This employer-driven program continues the success of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, which ended in 2021. Those who participated in the pilot must reapply to participate in the permanent program.

Eligibility

To join the Atlantic Immigration Program, employers must first be approved by receiving a designation and then have their job positions endorsed by the Province.

Once the employer's positions are endorsed, the foreign worker(s) identified by the employer can apply directly to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for permanent residency. Additionally, the foreign worker can obtain a temporary work permit while awaiting permanent residency.
