- Tourism and sightseeing

Can I work or study on a Visitor Visa (subclass 600)?
Paid employment is not permitted under the Visitor Visa, though voluntary work might be allowed. You cannot enroll in study programs exceeding three months. For longer courses through a school or university, you need to apply for a student visa.
How long can I stay in Australia?
The duration of your stay depends on the type of visa issued. Visas can be for single or multiple entries and may be granted for three, six, or twelve months.

How do I apply for an Australian Visitor Visa?
You will need to complete Form 1419: Application for a Visitor Visa, submit it to an Australian immigration office (typically a consulate or embassy), and pay the application fee.
While awaiting the decision, prepare the following supporting documents:
- Passport: Either the original or two copies of the biographical section if sending by post mail
- Financial documents: Proof of your ability to support yourself (cover hotel expenses and activities) during your trip. This can include bank deposits, statements, or other evidence of funds or assets
- Employment or study documents: Proof of your intent or need to return to your home country after the trip. This could be a letter from your employer, a copy of your business license, or enrollment verification from your educational institution
You will be informed of the visa decision, its validity period, and the next steps. You may be asked to provide additional documentation and attend an interview at the nearest immigration office.
