Additional Pathway for New Zealand Citizens

Since July 1, 2017, New Zealand citizens residing in Australia have had an additional pathway to permanent residency through a new stream within the Skilled Independent (subclass 189) visa.

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

- Hold a Special Category (subclass 444) visa

- Have continuously lived in Australia for five years, beginning before February 19, 2016

- Meet the taxable income, health, and character requirements
